What Students Will Master

Atomic structure and periodicity — understanding subatomic particles, electron configurations, periodic trends, and their influence on chemical behaviour
Chemical bonding and molecular structure — mastering ionic, covalent, and metallic bonding, intermolecular forces, and predicting molecular geometry
Stoichiometry and quantitative analysis — balancing equations, mole calculations, limiting reagents, and solution chemistry with precision
Thermodynamics and energetics — exploring enthalpy, entropy, Gibbs free energy, and predicting spontaneity of chemical reactions
Chemical kinetics and equilibrium — analysing reaction rates, collision theory, catalysis, and dynamic equilibrium systems
Organic chemistry and reaction mechanisms — naming, classifying, and predicting reactions of carbon-based compounds from alkanes to biomolecules
Spectroscopy and analytical techniques — interpreting IR, NMR, and mass spectra to determine molecular structure and composition
Laboratory skills and scientific investigation — designing experiments, collecting data, using instrumentation, and writing rigorous lab reports

Programme Overview

The AI Chemistry Plus Course is structured as a 6-grade developmental progression. Each grade builds on the previous one, advancing from foundational particle theory to university-level organic synthesis, spectroscopy, and capstone research.

7Ages 12–13

Grade 7

G7: Foundations

Discovering the nature of matter, particle theory, elements, separation techniques, and safe laboratory practices through hands-on exploration.

8Ages 13–14

Grade 8

G8: Structure

Building understanding of atomic structure, chemical bonding, balanced equations, acids and bases, and energy changes in reactions.

9Ages 14–15

Grade 9

G9: Quantitative

Applying the mole concept, stoichiometry, periodic trends, collision theory, electrochemistry, and introductory organic chemistry.

10Ages 15–16

Grade 10

G10: Advanced

Mastering thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium, advanced kinetics, acid-base equilibria, reaction mechanisms, and analytical chemistry.

11Ages 16–17

Grade 11

G11: IB/A-Level

University-preparatory study of quantum chemistry, d-block elements, Born-Haber cycles, aromatic and carbonyl chemistry, and extended investigations.

Head of Chemistry

6 courses8,200+ students4.9 rating

Dr. Chen holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of Cambridge and has 16 years of experience designing chemistry curricula for international schools across three continents. He previously served as Head of Chemistry at the International School of Singapore and led the development of virtual-lab-integrated chemistry programmes for the IB Diploma.

His research focuses on computational chemistry education — specifically how molecular modelling and AI-adaptive practice can accelerate students' understanding of reaction mechanisms and spectroscopic analysis. He is a chartered chemist (CChem MRSC) and a contributing author to the Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry syllabus review committee.

Hear from educators and families who use the AI Chemistry Plus Course.

“The virtual lab simulations from Grade 8 onwards are exceptional. Our students can safely explore reactions that would be impossible in a school laboratory. The 3D molecular viewer has transformed how we teach bonding and structure.”

Dr. Rebecca Hartley

Head of Science, Kingswood Academy

London, UK

“My son struggled with chemistry until he started this course. The AI tutor broke down stoichiometry step by step at his pace, and the adaptive practice kept him challenged without overwhelming him. He now wants to study chemical engineering.”

David Park

Parent of Grade 10 Student

Sydney, Australia

“We deployed this across Grades 7 through 12 and the progression is seamless. Two of our Grade 12 students received university offers specifically citing their capstone research projects. The IB and AP alignment is spot-on.”

Prof. Fatima Al-Rashid

Director of STEM, Horizon International School

Dubai, UAE
